Literacy Parade and Fall Party!

We had such a fun day today! We began our day with our literacy parade! We enjoyed seeing all of our kiddos dressed up as their favorite book character!

After the literacy parade, we continued on to our Fall Party! Our amazing room moms and volunteers set up 6 different crafts for our kiddos to enjoy!

Narrative Writing

In Writer's Workshop we are learning ways to improve our narrative writing by obtaining new skills and technique to use in our writing.  In today's lesson the children shifted from writing to reading their own stories! They made two piles of their most recent writing.  One pile that was more readable and one pile that was less readable.  We discussed and charted what makes writing hard to read and what makes writing easy to read.

Literacy Pumpkin!

We had so much fun preparing for Literacy Pumpkin Week!! As a class, we voted for the book Rainbow Fish! We decorated individual pumpkins as well as a large pumpkin to look like the Rainbow Fish! 

Our kiddos had so much fun with this project!

Spider-Man, Minions, and Ponies...Oh My!

We are loving this taste of fall and especially the friends that came to visit! 

Our munchkins sure have some cute jackets! With the slight change in weather be sure to dress your kiddo appropriately as we LOVE our recess time!

Reading Buddies

We read with our Reading Buddies today looking closely at the characters. As buddies we helped each other find anchor words and recall the particular part of a story that we knew we liked that character! Each partner acted out a scene from a star book, with each child taking on the roles of characters. 

Senses in Science Workshop

Everyday we begin Science Workshop by singing our song! 

Today in Science Workshop we began discussing how to Observe using our Five Senses! 

We worked together to draw a Scientist and discuss body parts that relate to each sense!

We challenged our students to use his or her 5 senses at home tonight! Quiz your kiddo and see if they can name all five!
